Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
1. Who we are
EduQuest Game Studio Inc. (“EduQuest”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the EduQuest educational games platform for schools, teachers, and students. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information, in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
2. Children’s privacy
EduQuest is designed for classroom use. Student accounts are created and managed by schools and teachers — we do not require children to provide personal email addresses or contact details. We collect only the student information needed to deliver the learning experience, and we never advertise to students.
3. Information we collect
We collect: (a) teacher and administrator account information, such as name, email address, and school; (b) student information provided by schools, such as display names, usernames, and class or group membership; (c) gameplay and learning data, such as games played, scores, and progress, so teachers can see student performance; (d) information you submit through our contact form; and (e) limited technical information, such as browser type, device information, and IP address, used for security and to keep the platform working.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to: provide and improve EduQuest; show teachers and administrators their students’ learning progress; respond to support and contact requests; keep the platform secure; and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information to anyone.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and basic analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the platform may not work properly without them.
6. Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run the service: schools and teachers see their own students’ data; trusted service providers (such as our Canadian hosting provider, payment processor, and authentication service) process data on our behalf under contract; and we may disclose information where required by law. We do not sell or rent personal information.
7. Where data is stored
We store personal information in Canada: the EduQuest database, and the pictures and recordings schools upload, are kept in data centres in Canada. Our network and hosting providers may handle a request in the data centre nearest the person using EduQuest, which can be outside Canada, but student data is not stored there. A school’s administrators can download a copy of all of their school’s data, in open formats, at any time, and can see a log of who viewed, printed or exported students’ reports.
8. Consent
By using EduQuest, you consent to the collection and use of information described in this policy. Where parental consent is required for a child’s use of the platform, the school obtains it. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us — note that this may affect your ability to use the platform.
9. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal requirements. Student data is removed when a school deletes accounts or asks us to delete it.
10. Safeguards
We use reasonable physical, technical, and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit, restricted access to personal information, and a log of who views, prints or exports students’ reports — to protect your data against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. If personal information is lost, or accessed or disclosed without authorization, we act at once to contain it, find out what happened and whose information was involved, and promptly tell the affected school what happened, what information was involved, what we have done, and what the school can do. We then fix the cause so it does not happen again. The school decides how its students and families are told, and we help it do so.
11. Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, contact us through our Contact Us page. We will respond within the time required by law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and continued use of the platform means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact us
